D&AD DCM brief

The UK cinema advertiser, DCM, have set a brief for students to create a new 25 second ident that reflects the power of cinema and how cinema makes audiences feel.

The demographic is cinemagoers. So the ident needs to appeal to people of all ages, everywhere.

It is essential that the DCM mark is used in the animation and once it is used, it should always be active with light.

The end frame must result to the DCM mark with the strapline “Welcome to Our World.”

Music is not essential but it will be better to use this to bring the animation to life. DCM would prefer it if a sound design or mix was used rather than an existing song.

After reading the brief and the guidelines provided, I have decided to research current and existing idents in order to find inspiration for visual style and techniques to use in After Effects when making the final animation.
